Costumes

I had so much fun getting dressed up this year!
Thanks to my wonderful hubby (who gave me the idea) we dressed up as
Jack and Jill and a pail of water.

The entire costume cost me $2!
A price that made the entire night so much more fun.

We had dinner in a pumpkin with family then went to a Halloween block party with more family.
I am so sad to think of moving away from all my family.
They make life so much for full and rich.

side note: I have the greatest husband ever!
I mean look at that sweet guy.
Willing to get dressed up and walk around with me.
I owe him big time.

What were you for Halloween?
and
Which is better - eating all your candy in one night?
or
eating one candy a day until you run out?

Beach Toys

I was in Boarders a couple weeks ago and found a super cute sand toy kit.
I naturally wanted it for my Florida trip but realized it may not be the smartest item to spend money on. (especially living in a land locked state and the fact that winter is knocking at my door)

So instead I went to the local thrift store and picked up some fun mix matched items to use at the beach.
It only cost a couple of bucks and
I love the diversity and color scheme of my homemade set.

I know winter is coming but a girl can dream right?
I am so homesick for the warm weather, love, beach, and friends.
I hope it is warm where ever you are.

See you around.

MIA

Where have I been all this time? It has been a long time since I have posted.
I figured you may be worrying about little ole me, so I thought I would calm your fears.

I am in florida!
My brother flew me out to visit my new little niece.
(I know, I have the greatest brother ever!)

I surprised my sister-in-law and couldn't say anything online about my trip.
Now that I am here I have been having SO much fun. Too much to fun to even blog, which is how life should be.

I am living the life.
Especially here with my brothers perfect set up. A pool, park, playground, gym, and tennis courts all a stones throw away.

We have been painting, running, swimming, cooking, swaddling, walking, and planning (for thanksgiving).
It has been perfect, so perfect I can't write anymore because we are off to the beach.

Hope your having a fun day.
See you around.

Post to come - organizing salads, peach pie, and a new hair curling technique.

Laundry Bag Dress

This dress is made out of a laundry bag.
I fell in love with the stripes and had to find a way to turn it into a dress.
2.00 for the laundry bag (thrift store).
I added a ruffle from some scrap fabric and a zipper down the back.
My first zipper and it is not very good but it will work for now.

Maybe I should be pocahontas for halloween?

(I have pictures of my process if anyone is interested in a tutorial. let me know.)

g.n.o.

Awesome g.n.o. (girls night out) I just love good quality, fun girl time.

I felt bubbly and revived afterwards. Girlfriends can do that to you.
We talked about kids, food, cleaning, movies, and being moms.
wow! Am I really in this stage?!
Who knew one upping each other with stories could be so fun!

I caught myself fake laughing in the bathroom mirror when I got home. hahaha!
I gotta see what I looked like right?! Make sure I wasn't making a fool of myself.
You know you've done it.

My in-laws suggested I have a g.n.o. every night because of my hyper happiness. But I think the energy came from my excitement for the peach ice cream I was making and mentalist I had taped. Turned out my ice cream was a smoothie and my show was old. darn! I came down from that cloud real fast. (name that movie!)

Can't wait for my next g.n.o.
Wanna join me? We can practice laughing on the way.

Car Hair

Today I did my hair while driving.
Literally. I steered with my knee. (told you I am wonder woman)
Dangerous I know, and most likely against the law. I was a little worried about oncoming traffic seeing me, not that they would or could do anything about it. It just felt funny not to have my hands on the wheel.

It all started with a conversation I had with my brother last night about hair. He is under the impression that hair is super easy to maintain and style. pfffff! Whatever. Or maybe I am just dense and it really is easy, but I think that is less likely. My hair is getting long and I am losing my desire to style it everyday, which adds to the pffff of our styling convo. I would rather sleep or play with my daughter.

So while driving to Joann's to get a zipper for a dress I am making it hit me -
"I am never going to like my hair long if I never do anything with it."
That is when the knee driving came in. I had no idea what I wanted to do with it, so I just started braiding and this is what I got.

My braid was a little too perfect when I did it, so I gave it a good rub to give it a worn look.
I am happy to have discovered this braid and will most definitely do it again!

What is your knee driving hairstyle?

School

School is back in session.

I must admit that I am a little excited for this semester.
I am not taking any classes, since I am graduated, but this is Danes last four months of BYU!
We are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us next.

In honor of this glorious beginning we had a special candle light dinner out on our deck.
It was perfect, and I have been wanting to do this forever!

Perfectly romantic.
We had a yummy salad, brown rice, and curry (recipe to come).
hmm.. just what my tummy wanted.

And naturally we drank out of jars, and had candles in jars.
Jars. Jars. Jars.
They make me smile.

See you around.

Happening Upon A Rainstorm

Tonight I went for a little bike ride with my family.
I love bike rides.
We went to the dollar store, which was a good distance away.
On the way I remembered that I forgot my wallet. Luckily I had something to return to a near by store and they gave me cash back!
Hooray for having $6.43 to spend at the dollar store.
Guess what my total came to?
$6.30
whoop whoop!
Then on the way home it started to pour.
My hubby was a little worried about our daughter but I was ecstatic!
"I'm riding in the rain! Just riding in the rain!"
That is me singing to the tune of singing in the rain.
So fun!
It even started to hail a little.
The best adventure of the day.
When I got home my daughter and I took a hot bath together.
Lovely memories.
