Update!

Where to start?
"Lets start at the very beginning..." (name that movie!)
My family and I have relocated from Utah all the way to.......
wait for it....
Arizona!
Not too big of a leap from Utah, I know. But we are just grateful to have a good job right out of college.
We got her in January, and moved into our house in February.
I LOVE OUR HOUSE!
We live on such a fun street.
We have such fun neighbors.
We love our ward.
We have a POOL!
A park in walking distant
(if we are ever outside, Kalei will lead the way)
We are one mile from shopping, food, a movie theater, the freeway.
Everything.
I love our house!
Did I mention that I love our house?

I feel so blessed and excited about life.
Dane is working in finance and loving it.
Kalei is becoming a little person with such a warm personality.
And I am finally feeling settled enough to start on some projects!

I can't wait to share them with you!
I also have some exciting news...
I got a job as a food designer and photographer.
I am not sure what my official job title is but I can't wait to dive in.
I get to make yummy recipes and take pictures of them.
I am a little nervous, but mostly excited.
You will have to come by and visit me at phabulife.com!

I will probably be a little busy in the next week, I need to hurry and get some meals made and pictures taken but I am working on a dress I am super excited about and can't wait to share with you!

See you around.

Roses

I love fresh roses. A new love really.
I used to hate getting flowers.
They just die and then I feel bad throwing them away because someone spent money on them and so I keep the dead flowers in the vase with the yuck water until all the peddles have fallen off.
But now that I have a rose garden outside my kitchen window I have found a new love.

It is even better when your husband cuts them fresh from the garden and puts them in a super cute vase on your night stand for you to wake up to.

Has that ever happened to you?
Me neither.
A girl can dream right?

So. After waking up to a very empty night stand I decided to step in for my hubby.
I know he was thinking about doing it. He is sweet that way.

Here is where they are now,
and tonight I will put them on my nightstand again to wake up to.
Maybe my hubby will leave a sweet note tonight. ;)

What made you happy today?

Pillowcase Outfits

I found two Martha Stewart pillow cases at the thrift store and couldn't resist.
Only 0.49 cents.
So I decided to use one pillowcase to make myself a pencil skirt
and the other to make my daughter a dress.

It took me a while to figure out the best way to make my pencil skirt. I tried putting it on a pinning it where I wanted to take it in but then the waist was too big. I found the easiest way for me was to lay it out with one of my other pencil skirts and pinning it to match. I used a regular zipper on the side, instead of an invisible (I am a little intimidated by the invisible zipper, but am going to attempt it this week. I'll let you know how it goes). It may look better with an invisible zipper, if you dare.

Here is a slightly better angle of my daughters dress. She hasn't quite gotten the hang of posing yet...and I am okay with that.
The tricky part for her dress were the sleeves. I had to take them out twice to size up. I didn't have a pattern so I just experimented until it worked. I may suggest using a pattern for the sleeves if you haven't done one before like me. It could save you a lot of time un-stitching.

Today's Task

Today I have been working long and hard on some photos I took for my aunt-in-law's daughter's wedding reception.
That is the daughter of my aunt-in-law. Aunt-in-law's daughter's wedding reception is a lot to swallow.

I was not the main photographer there but was asked to take some pictures.
I am actually not even a photographer at all.
I just love to take pictures and I guess my weird perspective was appealing.
Not sure why.
Here are a few of the day.

The walkway was lined with these balloons tide to weight bags.
adorable.

Loved this idea.
A bouquet of flowers in an upside down umbrella, slightly opened.

Mini cupcake cake.
There was an actual cake that went on the top but the fondant started to melt so it was taken inside.

Everyone helping out wore these fabric flowers.
Such a cute idea.

I loved taking these pictures, and although you can't see a soul in them, except the arm above and maybe some feet, I think they turned out pretty good.

What tasks have you been working on today?
